James has trained PMs at companies like:

A strong, motivated and unified team is essential to delivering change, no matter what the circumstances. In Leading Impactful Teams, James Louttit sets out how to bring people with diverse talents and viewpoints together in an effective way and motivate them to achieve their full potential.
Leading projects and teams can be rewarding, for sure. But it can undoubtedly be stressful. There are risks. Constraints. And people. James has crafted a practical book that helps take some of the stress out of the process. It's an enjoyable read from a guy who knows what he's talking about. Regardless of your level of project management expertise, you'll pick up ideas to help you lead and deliver. Highly recommended.
This book is more holistic than traditional Project Management books. It imparts the experience of living through projects, both good and bad, hopefully helping those embarking on the road to avoid the pitfalls.
This book is 'projects with personality'. It is a highly refreshing read through project theory and practice, against a backdrop of personal experiences and storytelling. The writing style is light-hearted, fun, and colloquial, which is a welcome digression from drier, fact based, textbook styles. Its greatest consistent feature is how it describes typical project challenges and then immediately provides practical tips to overcome them.
Always with an eye on the big picture, as well as specific tasks, James reminds us that we don't operate in isolation. He contextualises teams in the environment in which they work to ensure other stakeholders also recognise the value of a team's work. Whether you're a project manager, team manager, team member or someone calling on the services of a team, this book has something for you.
It's incredibly relatable, relevant to present times and packed with practical advice for your daily work. I loved how his tips and experiences resonate with project and programme managers in any stage in their career. His expertise shines through the book. It's a refreshing read, light, accessible, and enjoyable, unlike some other PM books. I highly recommend it to project managers, it's a good resource, you'll appreciate having it on hand.
I can say that this book Leading Impactful Teams by James Louttit is an amazing reading in how to push forward project management in a funnier, smarter and ensuring low-stress successful projects. Strongly recommend this as a project management manual to apply throughout the daily-basis projects.
This book is a treasure trove of off-the-shelf tips, tools and techniques for each stage of your project to help you deliver. My favourite is the SAVE technique. It combines some amazing design thinking techniques with that great output of execution. James's SAVE workshops are now always my first deliverables on the project plan. I also loved the reminder around Dale Carnegie and seeing things from another's point of view.
The book eloquently describes how project managers are often in the office jungle trying to navigate egos and non-productive or non-cooperative behaviour in individuals and teams. James provides a practical and common sense utility belt of exercises to engage and encourage collaboration that can cut through all the dancing around on egg shells and allow people to get out of the way of themselves to deliver a result.
James has compiled a really practical set of techniques and tools which will certainly guide Project Managers to effectively manage projects and achieve project delivery success. Particularly impactful is the focus on people, leading teams and managing stakeholder expectations through the project lifecycle. This book is written in unambiguous and engaging language, making it accessible and relevant for all levels of project delivery experience.

James
In 2016 I ended up in hospital because I was managing my projects with EFFORT instead of IMPACT. Since then I've learned everything I can about managing all types of projects, teams, people and work. I'm also a Scout Leader (my other book is called "The Brilliant Beaver Guidebook") and I love to explain things with stories and experiences that are relatable and (hopefully!) get the learning across without the boring theory-based approach that most project management books waffle on about.
Learning can be fun - there's even a few laughs in there, but this book is grounded in decades of experience, and a deep understanding of all the main project and work management approaches. I teach the Project Management Training Course at the Irish Management Institute and I regularly explain these concepts to C-Level executives and to new graduates starting out on their careers. Wherever you are on your career journey, whatever your experience, I promise you will get value from the time you spend with Leading Impactful Teams, and I'll pay for the refund myself if you don't.
The book is 200+ pages of practical tools, frameworks, and real stories from 20 years of running projects. Here's what you'll walk away with.
Scope, Prioritisation, Time, Cost, Quality, Risks, Team, Stakeholders. The eight angles experienced PMs check on every project, almost without thinking.
How experienced PMs develop an instinct for spotting problems before they happen. And how to build that instinct yourself.
How to lead, motivate, and influence the people in and around your project. Not just the work, the humans doing it.
Four work environments and how to use each to get the best from your team. Why your office setup might be costing you focus.
Project management was meant to be the interesting bit. Build something real. Lead a team. Ship the work.
Instead it's back-to-back status meetings, a stakeholder who keeps changing their mind, a team that's half checked-out, and a quiet worry that the next escalation has your name on it.
You're not bad at this. The job is genuinely hard, and most of what you were taught doesn't match what actually happens in the room. That's what this book fixes.
And the masterclass goes deeper on the bits you need most right now.
